It’s the last night of Harry Styles’ tour.
We all do certain things to get through the day, I for one, must check Harry Styles tour schedule three times per day to confirm whether or not he has a show that day. Then, when the clock strikes 9pm wherever his show is I log onto twitter.com and patiently wait for a fan to post a grainy photo of his outfit.
However, time and time again I end up disappointed by another high-waisted trouser, blouse, suspender combination. There have been exceptions, notably Las Vegas, Nashville, New York City, and Los Angeles, but he’s made it clear that on this tour he has a uniform and that uniform is Gucci.
Once upon a time, Styles was still establishing himself as a solo artist. On his first tour, Harry Styles Live on Tour, he wore an entirely different suit every single night. He tried on the look of every rock star and somehow landed on this suspenders, high-waisted trouser look. Styles mixed and matched designers that ranged from Alexander McQueen to up-and-coming Harris Reed, and of course Gucci. Checking his tour outfits back in 2018 was exciting and he didn’t play favorites. On my tour date, in humble Sacramento, California, Styles wore a silver, sparkly, custom Charles Jeffery jumpsuit.
I’m not sure when Styles signed this deal with Gucci, but I long for the time when you truly didn’t know what he’d wear next. Perhaps the end of this tour will usher in a new and unexpected fashion era from Styles.
